  Billiard Golf Side Games:

Traditional golf games such as stroke play (total score) or match play (hole by hole basis) can be played with Tees & Cues. However, there are many side games that add further variety and competition. The list below contains some popular golf “side games” that have been modified for the Tees & Cues scoreboard format. Get a foursome, grab a cue stick and go for the green.

Game: Skins

No. of Players: 2,3,4 or more.

Players should establish order of play and rotate that same order throughout the match. The player who has the lowest score (untied) on a hole wins a skin. One tie, all tie, results in no skins being won for that hole. A great game as partners playing alternating shots.

The Skins game can be played with carryovers. If no skins are won on a hole then they can be added (carryover) to the next hole. The value of each skin is determined before beginning the game.

Game: Nassau

No. of Players: 4

This is a very popular golf game that can be played between individuals or teams. Players should establish order of play and rotate that same order throughout the match. In a Nassau there are three matches. The front nine holes make up the first match, the back nine another and the 18 hole total making the third match.

The point value of each match is equal and is determined prior to the round. This game can be played match play or stroke play.

Game: Round Robin (6-6-6)

No. of Players: 4

Round Robin, or 6-6-6, is played in a foursome in which the two player teams change partners after every 6 holes.

The round is divided into three 6-hole matches which allows each player to play with a different partner in each of the three matches.

Game: Stableford

No. of Players: 2-4

Players should establish order of play and rotate that same order throughout the match. Stableford is a points system. On each hole players add or subtract points based on their net score. The point value for each score can vary, but should be decided on before the match. Here is a common version.

Double Eagle 4

Eagle 3

Birdie 2

Par 1

Bogey 0

Double Bogey -1

Triple Bogey -2

Players either pay the winner (highest point total) a set amount or an amount for each point difference between their total and the winners.
